BJD’s Amar Patnaik among 11 MPs Shortlisted to Receive Sansad Ratna Award

Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal’s Rajya Sabha Member Dr Amar Patnaik has been shortlisted for the prestigious Sansad Ratna Award for the year 2022.

The award, being given by the Prime Point Foundation, recognizes the best Parliamentarians and is selected by a jury consisting of eminent personalities of the country.

This year the award will be given to eleven Members of Parliament including eight from the Lok Sabha and three from the Rajya Sabha.

According to a press release from the Foundation, NCP MP Sule, Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) MP N K Premachandran and Shiv Sena MP Shrirang Appa Barne will be awarded the ‘Sansad Vishisht Ratna’ award for their sustained outstanding performance.

TMC MP Saugata Roy, Congress MP Kuldeep Rai Sharma, and BJP MPs Bidyut Baran Mahato, Heena Vijayakumar Gavit and Sudhir Gupta will get the Sansad Ratna Award for their performance in the 17th Lok Sabha.

Likewise, from the upper house, Biju Janata Dal’s Amar Patnaik and NCP’s Fauzia Tahseen Ahmed Khan will be awarded for their performance in 2021 under the ‘sitting members’ category. CPIM’s K K Ragesh has been nominated for the award under the ‘retired members in 2021’ category for his outstanding performance during his full term in Rajya Sabha.

The award giving function will be held on the 26th of this month in New Delhi.
