BMC Opens 24-Hour Control Room to Tackle Waterlogging

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has opened a 24-hour control room to deal with the waterlogging issues in the capital city this rainy season.

Due to the monsoon rains, there is waterlogging problem in some areas in the city. The BMC is fully prepared to deal with the situation, the civic body said.

BMC Mayor Sulochana Das has appealed to the residents of Bhubaneswar not to get panic and if there is any problem of waterlogging in any area and inform to the BMC.

Two toll-free numbers (1929 and 7008475455) were also issued after discussions with senior officials including BMC Commissioner Vijay Amruta Kulange, informed the civic body.

The 24-hour control room has also been opened. Citizens have been asked to provide information about problems caused by rainfall and waterlogging issues.

The Mayor has instructed the officials to remain alert so that waterlogging does not occur in any place due to heavy monsoon rains.
