Bhubaneswar: Extending its doorstep vaccination drive for the destitute, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today organized a vaccination camp at an old age home here to vaccinate the vulnerable people.
The vaccination camp was organized at Shri Krishna Old Age Home near Tankapani Road, Ward No. 58 in BMC South East Zone. As many as 55 inmates of the old age home were vaccinated.
Taking about the initiative, BMC Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Singh said, “We care for the senior citizens and other vulnerable at this pandemic situation and extending all possible supports to them”.
The BMC will reach out to those destitute and vulnerable people, who could not have been covered in the vaccination programme otherwise, he said.
This is a part of near home vaccination campaign, the BMC Commissioner added.
Earlier, the civic body had launched the doorstep COVID testing and pick and drop facility for vaccination for the senior citizens who are unable to visit testing or vaccination centers.
