Sundargarh: A bus plying with marriage party from Jharkhand was slapped with Rs 3.70 lakh fine in Odisha for allegedly violating norms under the Motor Vehicles (MV) Act.
The bus owner was issued a challan of Rs 3,70,172 by the transport authorities late last night.
The bus was travelling from Kurdeg in Simdega district of Jharkhand to Bargarh, as per reports.
During an enforcement drive, the vehicle was intercepted by a police squad at Karamdihi under Sadar police limits.
The officials issued a challan of Rs 3.70 lakh for the violation of Motor Vehicle Act including invalid insurance, fitness, pollution, and road tax documents.
