Sambalpur: Celebration of Iconic week at Hirakud Reservoir has received good response from the visitors.
The event has enrolled agri cooperative, fishermen cooperative, dam authorities/, conservationists, EDCS/ schools & colleges adjoining reservoir, NSS group and bird watchers etc.
It was organized by Hirakud Wildlife Division by involving all stakeholders of both Bargarh and Sambalpur districts.
Every year more than one lakh birds visit the reservoir during winters from Zero point to end of reservoir at Chhatisgarh- Odisha boarder.
Hirakud reservoir is a wetland of international importance and a proposed Ramsar Site.
