Keonjhar: Odisha Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra today visited Keonjhar district to review field progress of Joda Flyover and Kanpur Irrigation Project.
During his visit, the Chief Secretary directed the officials to expedite the work and complete within the set timelines.
He also reviewed Anandapur Barrage and Mega Piped Water Supply. He also took stock of progress of the major works for R&B, OBCC, RD, RWSS and Mega Lift Irrigation projects.
During the review, Keonjhar Collector Ashish Thakare and other officials were present.
The mega Kanpur Irrigation project being developed on the Baitarani river near Basudebpur under Joda block, will immensely benefit the people of Keonjhar.
Upon completion, the Rs 2438 crore project will irrigate 48,000 hectares of land in 238 villages and two lakh farmers in the villages in the district.
