CM Announces Rs 13 Lakh Ex-Gratia to Kin of Journalist Killed in Landmine Blast

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced ex-gratia of Rs 13 lakh to the kin of journalist Rohit Biswal, who was killed in a landmine blast in Kalahandi district today.

The Odisha police will provide a compensation of Rs 9 lakh while Rs 4 lakh will be given to the family members of Biswal, out of the Journalists’ Welfare Fund, according to official sources.

The journalist, who was working for a local daily, was killed in the blast of a landmine reportedly set up by Maiosts near Dulen bridge in Karlakhunta under M.Rampur police limits while he was covering the story.
