Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has delegated the powers of Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) to Balasore Collector to manage the emergency situation arising out of the high floods in Subarnarekha.
This has been informed by SRC Pradeep Jena.
Under the orders of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the SRC has delegated powers of SRC to Balasore Collector to manage the flood situation in the district, Jena said.
The Chief Minister has also ordered to place one helicopter with the collector to carry out rescue and relief operations, the SRC added.
High flood is expected in Balasore and Mayurbhanj following the release of around 5 lakh cusecs of water from Galudih barrage by Jharkhand through 16 gates. As a result, there will be high flood in Subarnarekha downstream, he said.
