CM Inaugurates “Ahimsa Rath’ on Independence Day

Bhubaneswar: With an aim to spread the message of Mahatma Gandhi, Father of the Nation, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated the “Ahimsa Rath” on the occasion of Independence Day on Monday.

The Rath will travel across the State to spread the thoughts, sacrifice and struggles of Mahatma Gandhi among the people.

Last year, the Odisha Legislative Assembly had unanimously passed a resolution seeking incorporation of the word “Ahimsa” in the Preamble of the Indian Constitution.

The Chief Minister had moved the resolution in the Assembly.
