CM Majhi Directs Water Resources Dept to Remain in Preparedness for Managing Possible Flood Situation
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed the Water Resources Department to remain in fully preparedness for managing possible flood situation during the ensuing monsoon.
The Chief Minister has held a review meeting with the officials of the Water Resources Department.
After meeting, Anu Garg, Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary of Water Resources Department, informed that the Chief Minister has suggested strengthening the river embankments. Weak embankments identified earlier will be monitored and steps will be taken to repair the potholes. Tahsildar and water resources department engineers are working together in this direction, she said.
The Chief Minister has advised to conduct mock drills in all dams. From now on, the flood control cell will work 24 hours a day.
The Chief Minister also advised the officers to be vigilant.
