Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who also holds the finance portfolio, on Wednesday presented the vote-on-account of Rs 95,000 crore in the Legislative Assembly to meet various government expenditures for August and September.
The vote-on-account includes 30 percent for revenue expenditure, 40 percent for capital expenditure, disaster management, social security, pension, judiciary and elections. This will make it possible to provide resources for the various schemes of the government. It will help continue emergency work, the Chief Minister said.
The State Government tabled the full-fledged budget on July 25. So, the government needs to make arrangements for funds for the months of August and September. The Appropriation Bill for 2024-25 will be presented on September 10, the Chief Minister told the Assembly.
After the passage of the Appropriation Bill, Speaker Surama Padhy adjourned the House till 10.30 am of August 20.
