Bhubaneswar: Keeping an eye on the increase in population and administrative requirements, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today approved the proposal to open 36 new Police Stations in the state. He also approved the sanction for creation of 563 new posts for these Police Stations. He also directed the officials concerned to make the new Police stations operational as early as possible.
New Police Stations will be opened at Bagedia and Gopalprasad in Angul, Gopalpur and Anantpur in Balasore, Bargarh rural, Nimakhandi in Berhampur, Laxmijor and Agalpur in Bolangir, Ghantapada in Boudh, Maitri Bihar in Commissionerate Police, Maniabandha, Jodum and Bhadreshwar in Cuttack rural, Laimura in Deogarh, Mahavir Road in Dhenkanal, Beguniapada and Kotinada in Ganjam, Krushnanandapur in Jagatsinghpur, Alakunda, Brahmabarada and Dasarathour in Jajpur, Airport PS in Jharsuguda, Kalarapat, Kalampur of Kalahandi, Pattanmundai rural, Kudanagari Koruaof Kendrapada, Manoharpur in Keonjhar, Nachuni in Khordha, Sunki in Koraput, Korakunda in Malkangiri Sadar, Bhanjapur in Mayurbhanj, Maidalpur in Nabarangpur, Chari Chaka in Puri, Ramanaguda in Rayagada, Bareipali in Sambalpur, Ichipur in Subernapur.
These police stations are being set up by bifurcation of the existing police stations and upgrading the police outposts already present. 563 posts in various positions starting from Inspector to Constables are being created for these Police Stations. The Chief Minister has said that, with the opening of the 36 new Police Stations, the endeavor of the Odisha Police to provide better services to the people of Odisha will get more strengthened.
