Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will dedicate to the people of Odisha the renovated birth place of Utkalamani Gopabandhu Das at Suando heritage village in Puri District tomorrow.
All preparations have been completed for this. The birth place of Utkalamani and the peripheral areas have been renovated by the Government of Odisha with a cost of more than Rs 32 crore.
The Chief Minister will also inaugurate the biggest 15 feet life size statue of Gopabandhu Das at his birth place inside the Pramoda Udyan. The newly built Utkalamani Museum at his birth place has some of the rare articles used by Gopabandhu Das. The Chief Minister will also visit the Sathi Ghara and the village God Lokeswar temple. Collector Samarth Verma has visited the place and reviewed the preparations.
At the request of the people of Suando, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has instructed the authorities for the renovation of the Gopabandhu birthplace.
Earlier this month, Secretary to CM (5T) V.K. Pandian had visited Suando and reviewed the renovation works. The Lokeshwar Shiva Temple in the village was in a dilapidated condition and has now been transformed by the state government.
