CM Participates in Ratha Yatra, Pulls Chariot of Lord Jagannath

Puri: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday participated in the world famous Ratha Yatra in the pilgrim city of Puri along with lakhs of devotees from across the country and outside.

The CM had darshan of the holy Trinity on the chariots and prayed for the well-being of the people of the state.

Naveen also pulled the Nandighosa, the chariot of Lord Jagannath along with devotees.

Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian also witnessed the Ratha Yatra in the pilgrim city.

The pulling of chariots started at around 3.04 PM. First, Taladhwaja-the chariot of Lord Balabhadra rolled on the Bada Danda followed by Darpadalana-the chariot of Devi Subhadra and Nandighosa-the chariot of Lord Jagannath.

Millions of devotees in Odisha and across the world throng the pilgrim town to get a glimpse of the trinity.

Tight security arrangements have been put in place for smooth completion of the Rath Yatra. The pilgrim town has been divided into 14 zones and 29 sectors. About 180 platoons of police personnel have been deployed in and around Puri town.
