CMO Reviews Public Grievances of Puri and Nayagarh Districts

Bhubaneswar: The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on Friday reviewed the various public grievances of Puri and Nayagarh districts.

The grievances were received during the Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian’s visits to the two districts on the direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

A detailed discussion was held by the CMO regarding the grievances and decisions were taken for the grievance redressal.

During the 5T Secretary’s Puri district visit, the people had drawn his attention towards the Puri Municipality land issue. A policy decision has been taken in the meeting to regularize the leases given by the Puri Municipality as per the municipal lease terms. The district administration has been directed to complete the work within the stipulated period. The 5T Secretary has ordered to complete the necessary survey work within 20 days. For this, it was decided in the meeting to provide additional revenue officers to the District Collector.

Puri Municipality has leased about 504 acres of land to various institutions and people for many years. In the high-level meeting, it was decided to fix appropriate fees on individuals and institutions to regularize the lease allotted as per municipal rules and regulations.

The meeting also discussed the construction of reservoir project on Brutanga river near Manjari village of Nayagarh district. After obtaining environmental and other necessary approvals, it was decided in the meeting to call tenders for the project immediately.

Development Commissioner Cum Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue and Disaster Management Department Satyabrata Sahu and senior officers of various departments were present in this meeting.
