Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal President Naveen Patnaik on Friday took a jibe at Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma asking the latter to concentrate on his own state instead of making laughable promise in Odisha.
Highlighting the growing debt burden of Assam, the Odisha CM said that Sarma should concentrate on his own state which needs some very important works.
The Assam Chief Minister came here and promised to make Odisha number one. The per capita debt of Assam is twice as much of Odisha. So he should really be concentrating on his own state which needs some very important work, the BJD President told national news agency ‘ANI’.
Naveen further stated that the people of Odisha laugh at the false promise of the BJP Chief Ministers and Cabinet Ministers who are coming to the State.
“Several BJP Chief Ministers and Cabinet Ministers have been coming to Odisha and saying that they will make Odisha number one state in India. They also are saying the same to several other states that they are going to make number one. This naturally makes the people of Odisha laugh”, CM Naveen said.
Earlier today, Naveen said that some Chief Ministers and Union Ministers come to Odisha as political tourists only at the time of elections and then they disappear.
