COVID-19: SMC Urges People Not to Lower Guard; Makes Mask and Social Distancing Mandatory

Sambalpur: The Sambalpur Municipal Corporation (SMC) has urged the people not to lower the guard against COVID-19 and follow appropriate behaviors to prevent spread of the virus.

In an advisory, the SMC has made the usage of masks compulsory in public places.

“All citizens residing within SMC area as well as outside citizens coming to SMC area or present in SMC area shall have to wear masks appropriately while moving out and while in public places”, the civic body said.

All business establishments including shopping malls shall have to ensure no overcrowding in their premises and adherence of COVID appropriate behaviors like maintaining social distancing of 6 ft and appropriate use of face mask of their staffs and customers at all times. The shopping mall owners should also make provision of thermal screening at entry point and provision of hand washing and hand sanitization for their customers and visitors, it said.
