Cyclone Gulab: Ganjam Admin Evacuates over 5000 People to Safe Shelters, 333 Pregnant Women to Healthcare Centres

Berhampur: The Ganjam district administration has evacuated more than 5000 people to safe shelter homes ahead of Cyclone Gulab, which is expected to make landfall by Sunday night in Odisha.

This has been informed by Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange.
The district administration has also shifted as many as 333 pregnant women to hospitals.

“ Team Ganjam has shifted more than 5000 people to safe shelters. More than 900 safe structures identified. 333 pregnant women shifted to hospital”, the Collector tweeted.


In view of the impending cyclone storm Gulab, the Odisha Government has directed the Collectors of 11 districts, namely Gajapati, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Khordha, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nawarangpur, Nayagarh, Puri, Rayagada to take all precautionary measurers to deal with the situation.
