Dial 112 Instead of ‘100’ for Emergency: Odisha Police

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police today said that ‘112’ has been integrated with ‘100’ for immediate assistance for the people.
“UPD Bhubaneswar (Dial 100) is now integrated with ERSS (Dial Telephone receiver112). We urge to the people of Odisha including UPD Bhubaneswar, please dial Telephone receiver112 in case of emergency rather dialling 100”, the State Police announced through its Twitter handle.

Earlier, the Odisha Government had launched a single emergency helpline number ‘112’ to provide immediate assistance to people in distress.

People used to dial 100 (police), 101 (fire), 102 (ambulance), 104 (coronavirus), 108 (disaster) and 181 (women helpline) and 1089 (child helpline) for emergency help and they were having difficulties in remembering these numbers. A single emergency number will be easy to remember and people in distress would get faster response.
