Bhubaneswar: The driver of the OSRTC bus, which was involved in a major road accident in Digapahandi area in Ganjam district, was arrested by the Police on Tuesday.
The driver identified as Manas Pradhan had reportedly fled after the tragic accident that claimed 12 lives.
Pradhan surrendered at Bharatpur police station here on Monday. Later, a police team from Digapahandi took him into custody. He was taken to the accident spot after his arrest, as per reports.
Notably, the road mishap took place near Digapahandi at around 1 a.m. on Sunday night when the private bus returning from Berhampur collided with an on-coming state-run OSRTC bus . The private bus occupants were returning to Khandadeuli near Digapahandi from a party at Berhampur when the tragedy struck just a few km before their destination.
