Bhubaneswar: BJD candidate Dipali Das has expressed her gratitude to party President and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, and people of Jharsuguda for her landslide victory in the Assembly by-election.
She also thanked BJD organizational secretary Pranab Prakash Das, three senior observers Prasanna Acharya, Debi Prasad Mishra, Sarada Prasad Nayak and senior BJD leaders for the victory.
Dipali further said that she will continue her efforts to take Jharsuguda to the pinnacle of development with the blessings of her father and the guidance of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Das won the by-election with a margin of 48,721 votes from nearest rival Tankadhar Tripathy of the BJP. She got 1,07,198 votes while the BJP polled 58,477 votes. Congress nominee Tarun Pandey lost his deposits with only 4,496 votes.
