Bhubaneswar: Eminent novelist Dr. Ramchandra Behera today received the prestigious Atibadi Jagannath Das Award, the highest literary award of the Odisha Sahitya Akademi.
The award was conferred during the 28th prize distribution ceremony of Odisha Sahitya Akademi.
Minister for Odia Language Literature & Culture Department Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi presented the award to Behera along with a cheque of Rs 5 lakh at a function organised by the Odisha Sahitya Academy.
On the occasion, 15 other writers, Rassheswari Mishra, Maheswar Mulia, Jivan Krushna Moahapatra, Nirmalprava Nayak, Radhabinod Nayak, Krupasindhu Nayak, Swarajya Laxmi Mishra, Baidhar Sahu, Digaraj Bramha, Babaji Charan Patnaik, Girija Shankar Sharma, Soubhagini Mishra, Debendra Kumar Dash, Ashok Kumar Patnaik, and Rudranarayan Prusti were felicitated with a certificate, trophy and prize amount of Rs 1 lakh.
