Bhubaneswar: Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) treatment facility will start at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack from August 27.
This has been informed by Director of Medical Education and Training (DMET), Dr. CBK Mohanty on Wednesday.
As many as nine ECMO machines will be installed at the hospital for the treatment of critical Covid-19 patients. The SCB ECMO unit will be the biggest unit in Eastern India, he said.
The costly medical equipment will be installed at the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) Department of the SCB Medical College & Hospital.
