Eight Member House Committee Formed To Examine Srimandir Parikrama Project

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Assembly has formed a House Committee to examine the Srimandira Parikrama project work going on around the Jagannath Temple in Puri. The Committee will be headed by Speaker Surya Narayana Patro and seven other members including Narasingha Mishra, Pratap Jena, Bikram Keshari Arukh, Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, Debi Prasad Mishra, Jayanta Sadangi and Lalitendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra.

The Assembly panel will examine the construction works of the Heritage Corridor Project around the Jagannath Temple. The Committee will visit the pilgrim city of Puri to formulate a blueprint for the project, according to reports.

The panel has been formed after detailed debate was held today in the Assembly regarding the impact of the development project being undertaken by the Government. The development project includes setting up of pilgrim amenities around the 75 meters radius of the Shi Jagannath Temple.
