Bhubaneswar: Eighteen places in Odisha have recorded temperatures of more than 40 degrees in the last 24 hours. While Sonepur remains the hottest place in the state with 43.3 degrees Celsius, Balangir reported 42. 8 degrees and Jharsuguda reported 42.6 degrees. Likewise, Baripada, Titlagarh, Hirakud, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Anugul, Balasore, Talcher, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Bargarh, Nuapada, Kendrapada, Boudh and Nayagarh also reported more than 40 degrees heat in the last 24 hours.
According to the Regional Meteorological Center, Odisha will continue to reel under head wave conditions in the next one or two days and Monsoon rains are likely to hit the state by the 16th of this month.
