Berhampur: A training session was organized for the Berhampur Police Officers and personnel of SST and FST regarding their roles, responsibilities and duties for the upcoming general and assembly elections.
The one-day training session was held at the IG SR Office.
Participating in the session, Berhampur SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M briefed the officers about their roles and responsibilities in ensuring a peaceful atmosphere for the smooth conduct of elections in a free and fair manner.
At the training programme, security related issues, such as suspect vehicle checks for illegal transportation of cash or liquor, and management of polling stations were discussed elaborately.
Notably, the Election Commission of India on Saturday announced the elections to the 21 Lok Sabha Constituencies and 147 Assembly seats will be held in four phases from May 13.
The Berhampur Parliamentary Constituency will go to the poll on May 13.
