Bhubaneswar: Eminent filmmaker Himansu Sekhar Khatua on Thursday took charge as the director of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) in Kolkata.
Khatua, who has gained national fame for directing movies such as Sunya Swaroop and Kathantara, took the new responsibility from retired Professor Sameeran Dutta
Khatua has become the first Odia to hold the SRFTI director post.
Taking to media after greeted by the employees and staff of SRFTI, he said that his first priority will be creation and encouragement of new talent.
Khatua has been appointed as Director of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), Kolkata on June 25 2022. The appointment of the film director has been approved by The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
