Bhubaneswar: The Trophy of FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023 will reach Bhubaneswar tomorrow.
The trophy has travelled across 13 states and one Union Territory after the Trophy Tour of the prestigious sporting event officially kicked off on December 5 when Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik handed over the trophy to Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey.
The trophy is scheduled to reach Bhubaneswar at 11: 30 am at the Biju Patnaik International Airport.
Odisha Sports Minister Tusharkanti Behera, President Hockey India, Dilip Tirkey, BMC Mayor, Sulochana Das, along with officials of Sports Department will receive the prestigious trophy.
The trophy has travelled across West Bengal, Manipur, Assam, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, New Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Chhattisgarh.
In Odisha, the Hockey Men’s World Cup Trophy will tour across all the districts.
The trophy will also visit the 17 blocks of Sundargarh which is famed for being the cradle of Hockey.
The last leg of the tour will be in Rourkela before finally returning to Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar where the finals will be played on 29 January 2023.
