Bhubaneswar: The flood situation in Odisha is under control as the water level is receding, said Engineer-in-Chief (EIC) of Water Resources Department, Bhakta Ranjan Mohanty on Friday.
The flood caused by rivers Mahanadi and Baitarani is now under control, he said.
Although numerous people have been marooned following the rise in the water level in major rivers passing through the star, the overall flood situation in Mahanadi, Baitarini, and Brahmani is under control, Mohanty added.
Except for two incidents of minor breaches in embankments at Rasulpur and Teramanpur, the flood situation in the State is under control. Once the water levels recede, the violations will be repaired, he added.
The water level at Mundali near Cuttack in river Mahanadi has come down to below 7 lakh cusecs from 9.20 lakh cusecs. It does not pose any major threat, he asserted.
