Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday arrested a forest guard and watcher in Sundargarh district for taking bribe.
Sanatan Patra, forest guard and Narendra Kalo, watcher Dharanidharpali Nursery, Bonai Forest Range have been apprehended by the Vigilance officials for taking bribe Rs.7,000 from a complaint to facilitate release of the seized two wheeler of her husband.
On the direction of the forest guard, the watcher received bribe money. The forest guard was present at the spot during the entire process.
The entire bribe has been recovered from Kalo, the Vigilance informed.
In this connection, Rourkela Vigilance PS Case No.32/2023, U/s.7 P.C. (Amendment) Act,2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress, the Vigilance added.
