Fourth and Final Phase Voting: 460 Candidates in Fray For Six Lok Sabha and 42 Assembly Seats In Odisha
Bhubaneswar: As many as 460 candidates are in fray for six Lok Sabha and 42 Assembly seats in the fourth and last phase elections in Odisha. Voting will be held tomorrow for Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur Lok Sabha constituencies and 42 constituencies under these. A whopping 99 lakh 61 thousand eligible voters will cast their votes in the 4th phase elections. In the fourth phase, 10,882 booths have been set up across the eight districts. As per the CEO, 1400 polling booths will be exclusively managed by the women polling personnel and 20 percent of the booths are declared as sensitive booths where Central Armed Police Forces will be deployed.
In the forth phase of elections, 394 candidates including 61 women are contesting for 42 Assembly seats and 66 candidates including eleven women, are contesting in six Lok Sabha seats.
According to the CEO, 125 CAPF companies would be deployed on the polling day, of which 22 companies would be posted in Balasore district followed by 20 companies in Jajpur district. A total of 13,462 ballot units and a similar number of control units besides 14,606 VVPAT units have been commissioned in the last phase of election.
