Berhampur: The dream of every common man to have his or her own house and live in dignity is going to be fulfilled soon as the Ganjam District administration has started the ambitious Mo Ghara scheme in the district. Launched by the Government of Odisha under the leadership of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the scheme will help homeless families to have their own roof over their heads. Under this scheme, the Ganjam District administration has started distributing Bank loans and subsidy to the applicants to build their own homes.
Under this scheme, Sumita Das, belonging to Podangi village of Burupada Panchayat in Hinjilikatu Block has become the first beneficiary. She received her first installment of Rs 1 Lakh from Collector Dibyajyoti Parida at his office. Sumita had applied for building her own home at a cost of Three lakhs which was approved by the administration. Now she will start constructing her own house. The amount has been sanctioned by the Hinjilikatu Block administration through State Bank of India.
Overjoyed with the sanction of money and subsidy under the Mo Ghara scheme, Sumita says that her long ending dream of owning her own house will become reality now. It is worth mention here that Sumita had earlier received a homestead land from the Government of Odisha and now she will build her own home on that land. She has thanked Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for getting this benefit from the state government. V Keerthi Vasan, CDO-cum-EO, ZP, Ganjam, Hinjilikatu BDO Subrat Kumar Jena, Hinjilikati SBI Manager Soumyakanta Patnaik were also present during the handing over of the Mo Ghara benefit to the beneficiary.
