Bhubaneswar: A senior revenue assistant-cum-record keeper at Chatrapur Tahasildar office in Ganjam district was caught by Vigilance sleuths while taking bribe on Friday.
The senior revenue assistant has been identified as Swati Sucharita Patra.
Patra was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting bribe Rs. 5,000 from a complainant in order to process the file for conversation of agricultural land to homestead land and for issuance of ROR (Patta) in favour of the person.
The entire bribe amount has been recovered from the exclusive possession of Patra and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at 3 locations of Patra from DA angle. In this connection, Berhampur Vigilance PS case has been registered U/s 7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018.Investigation is in progress against the accused Patra, the Vigilance said.
