Berhampur: South Odisha’s biggest cultural extravaganza – the Gopalpur Beach Festival will commence from today. The festival is being organized after two years as it was on hold due to Covid pandemic. The District administration has made wide ranging arrangements for the five day festival. Lakhs of people from across the state and neighboring Andhra Pradesh visit Gopalpur for this event. Cultural troupes and noted performers of the country will enthrall the audience during the festival days.
Foolproof security arrangements have been placed at the beach for the safety of the people. While 32 CCTV cameras have been put up, 15 platoons of forces will be deployed at various laces to manage crowd. Collector Dibya Jyoti Parida and Berhampur SP Saravana Vivek M visited the festival site yesterday and reviewed the preparations. Some of the highlights of the event will be Mission Shakti stalls, Pallishree Mela, Meena Bazaar, Biju Patnaik Manoranjan Park and various other exhibitions.
