Great Moments for Odisha: FIH President Presents Replica of Junior Men World Cup Trophy to 5T Secy VK Pandian
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government’s sustained efforts to promote Hockey has received yet another recognition as FIH President Dr. Narinder Dhruv Batra presented a replica of the FIH Odisha Hockey Junior Men World Cup trophy to Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian on Saturday.
The trophy has been given to the 5T Secretary for his efforts for the development of Hockey in Odisha which entailed the Indian Hockey teams outstanding performances in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Indian Hockey has regained its lost glory after the gap of nearly 41 years when the Men’s team won the Bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Behind this phenomenal success lies the great motivation and unwavering support of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
At a time when the Indian Hockey was in dire need of sponsorship after Sahara backed out, it was the Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik who came forward to sponsor the national teams. At that time, the decision surprised many. But now the world has seen the intention of Naveen Patnaik.
