Bhubaneswar: The heat wave conditions are likely to abate in Odisha as the IMD has predicted widespread rainfall over the districts of the State during next three to four days.
“Due to likely interaction of middle tropospheric westerly trough with lower level easterly, and moisture incursion from Bay of Bengal, meteorological conditions are becoming favorable for moderate thunderstorm activity with lightning, gusty surface wind and scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over the districts of Odisha during next 3 to 4 days”, the IMD said in a special message on Friday.
Maximum day temperature is very likely to fall by 3 to 5 degree Celsius during next three days and no large change thereafter at many places over the districts of Odisha. Hence there will be no heat wave weather conditions across the State during next 4-5 days, it said.
People are advised to keep watch on weather and take safe shelter during the thunderstorm activity to protect from lightning and follow traffic advisories in urban areas, the IMD urged.
