Puri: The high-level committee led by Justice Biswanath Rath has recommended the opening of the Ratna Bhandar, treasury of Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri, on July 14.
Justice Rath, who is the chairman of the reconstituted committee formed to oversee the reopening of Ratna Bhandar for its repair and inventory of valuables, said that the proposal would be submitted to the State Government for the opening of the Ratna Bhandar on July 14.
The committee has reached a consensus to reopen the Ratna Bhandar regardless of the availability of its key or the functionality of the lock, he said after the completion of the second high level committee meeting.
He further said that special care will be taken so that devotees will not be refrained from having the darshan of the deities during the opening of Ratna Bhandar.
The State Government and the Managing Committee will now have some time to decide on the proposal, he added.
