Sambalpur: The water level in the Hirakud Dam is increasing slowly due rains in the upper catchment areas. The water level stood at 620.41 feet currently. While 4.84 lakh cusecs of water is entering into the dam, about 1.7 lakh cusecs of water is being discharged.
The Dam authorities are releasing the flood waters through 12 sluice gates – seven from the left side and five from the right side. While, currently Mundali in Cuttack is recording an inflow of 4.2 lakh cusecs of flood water, it is likely to increase from today evening.
