Historic Day For Kalahandi: Naveen Inaugurates Saheed Rendo Majhi Medical College And Launches LAccMI Bus Service In Kalahandi
Bhawanipatna: Today is a historic day for Kalahandi district as Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has inaugurated the newly built Rendo Majhi Medical College in Bhawanipatna and flagged off the most ambitious LAccMI Bus Service. The Chief Minister also inaugurated and laid foundation stones of various developmental projects worth more than Rs 1200 crore.
During his visit to Bhawanipatna, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik interacted with the students and also announced that the Kalahandi University will be known as Maa Manikeswari University from today.
The Rendo Majhi Medical College has been built with an expenditure of Rs 481 crore and the NMC has approved 100 MBBS seats.
The launching of the LAccMI Bus Service by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will provide modern connectivity between rural areas and urban areas of the district. A fleet of 63 ultra modern buses will run between various Panchayats, Blocks and district headquarters.
The Chief Minister said that the LAccMI bus scheme will bring happiness to homes and take the vehicle of development forward. 1,000 buses will run in this scheme in the entire state, the CM said.
Stating that today is a big milestone in the development journey of Kalahandi and a day of great joy, the Chief Minister said that a project worth more than Rs 300 crore was inaugurated here today. Another Rs 900 crore worth of infrastructure was laid for the project. He said that this would further accelerate the development of the district.
The Chief Minister said, “Kalahandi is our model in the field of transformation. Improvements in education, health communication, infrastructure, industry, and agriculture have made the dreams of the people of Kalahandi come true. Kalahandi has changed its history and added new success stories. The journey of development has progressed. Kalahandi is providing rice to the whole country today.”
