New Delhi: Mrutyunjay Mohapatra, Director General of India Meteorological Department (IMD), has been elected as the third Vice President of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
This has been informed by the WMO through a tweet.

Apart from the IMD DG, two other persons were also elected to the position of Vice President of the WMO. They are Eoin Moran, Director of Met Éireann from Ireland and Daouda Konate, director of meteorology of Cote d’Ivoire.
