Chatrapur: V Ramesh Rao, ace international para-athlete from Odisha’s Ganjam district, has been conferred with an honorary doctorate degree by a reputed Germany university.
Chatrapur-born Ramesh, who has brought laurels to the state and country by winning medals at global sporting events on several occasions, received the degree of ‘Doctor of Para Sports’ (Honoris Causa) from the International Peace University (IPU) for his immense contribution to the field of para-athlete.
The Evaluation Board of the Stuttgart-based IPU on the recommendation of the faulty has awarded the doctorate degree on Ramesh Rao.
V Ramesh Rao has successfully completed the intense training cum seminar on the topic ‘Establishing Global Peace’ organized by IPU Achievers Forum and Global Accreditation Council, Germany on April 23 at Ooty in Tamil Nadu.
Ramesh has represented the country at several Wheelchair Fencing events across the world and made a mark for himself and Odisha. Disability was never an obstruction for him in sports. He is truly an inspiration for others.
