ITI Berhampur’s Tallest Scrap-Metal Structure Featured in Limca Book of Records

Berhampur: A scrap-metal structure created by the students of the Odisha Government-run Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Berhampur has featured in the Limca Book of Records.

The ITI Berhampur students have created the tallest scrap-metal structure, a 21.33 m (70 ft) tall guitar, over three months from 17 July 2019.

The unique scrap-metal structure found place in the Limca Book of Records under India Record category.

A group of 120 students, training to be fitters, welders, electricians, plumbers and painters at the Government ITI in Berhampur, created the tallest scrap-metal structure.

The ‘Best out of waste mission sought to integrate skill development with waste management in an eco-friendly manner.

The guitar is exhibited at the open-air Scrap Sculpture Museum of the ITI, along with 10 other smaller sculptures, also all created from waste.

The students have developed the tallest scrap-metal structure under the guidance of ‘scrap man of Odisha and Principal of the institute Dr. Rajat Panigrahy.
