ITI Berhampur’s “Waste to Wealth” Practices Lauded by Uttarakhand Govt ITI Principals

Berhampur: The Odisha Government-run ITI Berhampur’s “Waste to Wealth” practices have been highly appreciated by the principles of Government ITIs of Uttarakhand.

In a virtual workshop held on Saturday, Dr. Rajat Kumar Panigrahy, Principal of ITI Berhampur, have presented the “Waste to Wealth” practices adopted by the institute to the ITI principals of Uttarakhand.

Dr. Panigrahy, known as the “Scrap Man of Odisha”, explained how waste and scrap can be converted into beautiful models and sculptures by the students. He pointed out how converting waste and scrap into wealth can improve environment.

All the 40 principals were delighted to see the innovative practices and creativity of the students of ITI Berhampur.

They also expressed that they would replicate the similar practices in their respective institutes.

Recently, headmasters from 622 schools from 22 blocks of Ganjam district in Odisha have also decided to adopt ITI Berhampur’s ‘Waste to Wealth’ model by training students to convert scraps into sculptures and models.

The students from these schools will visit the ITI Berhampur campus in batches to learn the skills of converting waste and scrap into wealth.
