Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday nabbed the Assistant Engineer(AE) of Jatni Block in Khordha district for allegedly taking bribe from a contractor.
The AE has been identified as Nibedita Mohanty.
Mohanty been apprehended by the Vigilance sleuths while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.50,000 at her residence in Khandagiri, Bhubaneswar from a contractor for clearing his pending bill towards construction of Govt. constructions under Jatni Block by complainant.
The entire bribe amount has been recovered from accused Mohanty and seized.
Following the successful trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Mohanty from DA angle.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS Case No. 16/2024 u/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered.
The investigation is in progress against the Assistant Engineer.
