Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday arrested Sumanta Mallik, Marketing Inspector (MI), Th.Rampur Block of Kalahandi district while accepting bribe.
Mallik was apprehended by the Vigilance sleuths while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.14,000 from a complainant for processing his application and others for inclusion of their Ration Cards under “Antyodaya Scheme”.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from exclusive possession of Mallik and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Mallik from DA angle.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance PS Case No. 32 Dt. 03.10.2023 U/s 7 P.C Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against the accused.
