Bhubaneswar: Dinesh Kumar Rout, Sarapanch of Brundabahal GP under Golamunda Block in Kalahandi district, was intercepted by a team of Odisha Vigilance while he was carrying suspected ill-gotten cash of Rs 5.4 lakh.
The Sarapanch was intercepted near Khaliakani while he was proceeding to Brundabahal from Golamunda in his vehicle. The suspected ill-gotten cash was found in his possession. As Rout could not account for satisfactorily, the amount was recovered from him and seized. Besides seized cash, his Bolero vehicle also seized.
Following the interception, search is being carried out at two locations of Rout from DA angle. He is being examined to ascertain the source of funds, the Vigilance informed.
