Bhubaneswar: Senior Biju Janata Dal leader Kartik Pandian on Wednesday campaigned in Jashipur Assembly constituency under Mayurbhanj Lok Sabha segment to garner support for the BJD candidates in the ensuing elections.
Speaking at an election meeting, the senior BJD leaders said that there are many leaders who remember the hardships of the people only at the time of elections.
Kartik Pandian said that he is always coming to the people on the order of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
It is only Naveen Patnaik who gives the account of the development works, he said.
Highlighting various developmental works being carried out by the Naveen-led government in Jashipur constituency, the senior BJD leader said that the Chief Minister has sanctioned Rs 337.50 crore for Khairi-Bhandan irrigation project, Rs.170 crores for barrage in Sukruli, Rs 8.40 crore for transformation of Maa Kichakeshwari Temple , Rs.1.30 crore for Kichakeshwari Temple Museum, Rs.25 lakhs for Kurmi Community Building, Rs 25 lakh for Ho Community Centre, Rs.25 lakhs for Raruan Kurmi Bhawan.
The Chief Minister has provided funds for community centers in almost all societies, the BJD star campaigner said.
He further said that Rs 14.50 crore has been sanctioned for “Ama Bus Stand’ in Jashipur , Rs 50 crore for Raruan-Phagu road, Rs 35 crore for Suleipat-Jhaldunguri road and Rs 33 crore for Jashipur-Raruan road, Rs 650 crore to provide drinking water to households in Jashipur, Raruan, Sukruli blocks, hostel facility for 13 thousand 500 children and transformation 8 schools in the area.
The Chief Minister holds the tribal brothers and sisters in the best place in his heart. He loves them very much. The CM has formed Special Development Councils for protection of tribal arts, culture, places of worship and jagiras.
Such an initiative has been taken by Naveen Babu in the country. No other state or party has done it, he said.
The Chief Minister has also cancelled 50,000 court cases against the tribals, so that they no longer have to be harassed.
The LABHA scheme has been launched for forest dependent tribal communities. Through this scheme they are getting fair price of forest products like seeds, leaves, beets etc., they are no more cheated, he said.
With the blessings of Maa Kichakeshwari and people, Naveen Patnaik will be sworn in as Chief Minister once again on June 9. After taking oath, his first order will be waiver of electricity bill for all, the second order will include everyone in BSKY and the third order will provide pension or Mission Shakti members after the age of 60 years, Pandian said.
Coming down heavily on the opposition, he asked, “Did the person whom you elected last time from Jashipur come to you and give an account of his works? But our Chief Minister gives an account of the works, he said.
He also appealed the people to give their support to the BJD candidates in the elections.
