Kendrapara: Pattamundai Tahasildar in Kendrapara district was reportedly assaulted and thrashed by two angry farmers on Saturday.
The Tahasildar had been identified as Dilip Sethi.
Quite upset over the inaction by Tahasildar, the farmers thrashed him at his office, according to reports.
The farmers had earlier apprised the Tahasildar about the existence of an illegal brick kiln at their farmland causing damage to the crops.
The farmers sought action against owner of the illegal brick kiln and closure of it.
The Tahasildar had reportedly promised them to take the necessary action. However, he allegedly did not take any steps in this regard.
Upset by the inaction, the angry farmers barged into Sethi’s chamber at the Pattamundai Tahasil office and allegedly thrashed him.
The farmers were detained by the Pattamundai police following the incident, reports added.
