Kendrapara: A senior clerk at district treasury office in Kendrapara was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for allegedly taking bribe from a person to pass the pension bill.
The corrupt senior clerk has been identified as Samara Hembrum.
Hembrum was caught red-handed by Vigilance officers while he was demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.5,000 from a complainant in order to pass the final pension bill of his wife (Retired Teacher).
The bill was pending with Hembrum for last two months.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from Hembrum and seized.
Following trap, the residential house of accused Hembrum located at Vil-Kharinasi,PS-Jambu, Dist-Kendrapara is being searched from DA angle.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance PS Case no -25 dt.07.04.2022 U/S-7 P.C Act,1988 as amended by the PC(amendment) Act,2018 has been registered.
Investigation is in progress against Sri Hembrum.
