Keonjhar: A head-on collision between a heavy truck and a car near Badaposi Square under Sadar police limits in Keonjhar district killed four persons on Thursday.
One more person sustained critical injuries in the accident, as per reports.
The deceased have been identified as former Ghatagaon block chairperson Prakash Chandra Naik and his brother Chitta Ranjan Naik and two brothers Hrusikesh Singh and Narottam Singh of another family.
The victims belong to Pipilia village under Ghatagaon block, reports stated.
The tragic accident took place at around 6.15 pm when the victims were travelling from Keonjhar town to another place in the car.
Three persons died on the spot and another person passed away in the hospital while undergoing treatment.
On being informed, the police rushed to the spot and started a probe into the incident.
